How to Begin a Ministry Through Blogging

Blogging is a Ministry. It is a beautiful ministry!

I truly didn’t realize that when I first began my blog. One day while I was searching through Pinterest, I came across many articles about starting a blog and how easy it would be. I felt the Lord impress me that I should begin one…and I laughed about the idea.

I had no idea how to begin one or where to even start. So I stayed in prayer and the feeling to begin a blog only grew stronger. I knew that I would need the support from my husband and his technological background to help me if I actually did begin one.

Most importantly, I wouldn’t have started one if he felt it wasn’t a good idea. We are a team and we lean heavily on each other.

New Beginnings

I began the blog and it definitely was not what it has become today. I had used a free theme and did the best I could with that. 10 months later I finally decided to revamp my blog site and I LOVE how it has turned out. I use a theme from Bluchic and I constantly receive compliments about the professional look of my brand and website.

My prayer is that it will bring peace to those who come to visit my blog. I want you to truly feel as though we are sitting down with a cup of coffee sharing the Word of God together. I want you to feel as though you can come to visit anytime you need encouragement or that you need to hear a Word from the Lord spoken directly into your life.

And so with that, my blog began. I unsteadily stepped into a world of unknown but I completely understood Who was with me. Quickly, I began finding a voice that I didn’t know I had. I began allowing words to flow from within as I was being led by the Spirit of God. As I have said before, blogging is a ministry.

Choosing the Right Name

What next?

The next thing I did was create a Domain name. This is something that I thought about for a couple of days to make sure that I had what I thought would portray what my writing was about. Thankfully, the name that I wanted was not taken.

If the domain that you want is taken, then keep praying and thinking. The right name will come to you. Something else that you will want to think about is if your name is taken through social media such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, or Twitter.

While you can use a free theme for your website, they are usually hard to manage and you are not able to customize exactly how you would like. The instructional video shows how to select a free theme to get you started.
