I Am Momma, Hear Me Roar!

Oh no, don’t think about messing with Momma’s baby.

I’m going to get straight to the point. And I want you to think about this in all sincerity and honesty. What do you do when Satan attacks your child?

Although I am a southern lady and I can tell you just how Momma’s act here in the South, I can assume it is the same way in all regions. You just don’t mess with someone’s kid…unless you’re asking for it. We can turn from sweet little Southern Belle’s to blood boiling in two seconds flat is we think our child is being treated unjustly.

I wonder who acts the same way when the sly ole devil comes lurking around your kids. They begin acting differently, maybe they become sick, maybe they become anxious over circumstances, maybe the devil uses other people to attack your child. You know where I’m going with this.

I’m sitting here looking around the room with my eyebrows cocked thinking “I don’t know of any Momma that wouldn’t come unglued at the thought of the devil trying to attack their child”. And yet, I see it all too often, many mothers just sit by and allow things to happen.

We Must Be Aware

Maybe some mothers don’t realize what is truly going on. But isn’t that what God placed them in our arms for? To be sensitive enough in the spirit to recognize when our children are under attack?

To fight tooth and nail, or on our knees, to ensure our child’s safety and to ensure God’s Hand of protection is covering them?

Oh, my friend, we have got to be diligent! There is nothing that the devil would love more than to sneak in and steal the lives of our children. It won’t happen all at once, it will come over time. That is why you are the parent and they are the child. There are just things you have to protect them from and things that there is no need for an explanation for.

I remember while my husband and I were youth directors I would have Mom’s call me and talk with me about their child. I would express as best as I could that, especially with teenagers, there are times we have to give a firm “No” and not give in. And you don’t need to explain, because honestly, we may not know the answer. We only know what we feel in the spirit and that is so important.

I get it. I have a son and I hate having to tell him no. I hate having to discipline him at times but I know that I must. I know that if we don’t keep certain things at bay, it gives the devil the chance to sneak in and have his way with my son. And that is just not going to happen.

Make no mistake, we will go to war for our children. And that war will take place on our knees and in our prayer closets equipped with the Word of God as our weapon.

Be sensitive to the nudging that you feel from God. If you feel that something is not quite right or there is an unsettling feeling in your spirit, ask the Lord what specific things you need to pray about. He will tell you.

Pray over your child every night and every morning.

Speak the Word of God over their lives. Teach them the Word so that they can combat when Satan attacks.

Recognize when a spirit attacks and do not be intimidated to call it out. Satan has no control when we call him out and rebuke him in the Name of Jesus. When we are in warfare, we must understand this.

Do not be intimidated. Girlfriend, you are Momma. It’s time the devil hears you roar!

  1. Definitely have to keep my kids covered raising them in a world where Satan would like nothing better than to take them for his own. I like praying specifically and intentionally over them at morning and at night.

    • Brittany, you are so right! There are so many opportunities for Satan to sneak. But I am THANKFUL for the blood of Jesus!

    • Kristina, absolutely! Being firm when we need to is the hardest part, but it is the most needed. Our children may not understand it, but it’s what we are called to do.
